Media Server/Media Client Systems

K2^TM platform consists of a client, a server, and a RAID-protected storage system. The client performs all the video/audio I/O using built-in encoders and decoders. The server manages the file system and controls file transfer protocol (FTP) operations; its unique built-in quality of service (QOS) capabilities dynamically allocate bandwidth where it's needed, always ensuring that on-air channels never drop a frame of video.

HD Production Client

As an expansion of our award-winning server line, our K2^TM Summit high-definition (HD) production client features an HD super slow-motion capability; bi-directional operation; and, at only 2 RU, space efficiency. It also has unique features, such as extremely fast record-to-playout performance, that make it ideal for sports and live news applications.

K2 Media Client

K2^TM media clients perform all video and audio I/O using built-in encoders and decoders. Built around a robust computer platform, they feature redundant hot-swappable power supplies, mirrored system drives, redundant Ethernet ports, and extra cooling as standard features. Two iSCSI or Fibre Channel ports on the client switch to a backup data path in case of a failure, providing a cost-effective way to design a no-single-point-of-failure system.

Media Server

The K2- media server is the engine of the K2 platform. It manages the file system and its metadata, handles file transfer protocol (FTP) functions such as MXF and QuickTime wrapping and CIFS support, and dynamically allocates the bandwidth between its real-time I/O needs and the non-real-time needs of its FTP processes. And its built-in QOS guarantees that bandwidth is always available to your video channels, regardless of other demands on the system.

Replay Controller

Compact, next-generation K2 Dyno replay controller is designed to help sports producers and other professionals capture live events and instantly play them out at variable speeds for critical analysis during fast-paced events. Ideally suited for high-definition (HD) sports production trucks and shared-storage production facilities, it features touchscreen interface, external VGA screen, high-speed gigabit Ethernet connection, and USB connectors. Yet, with our T-bar and switcher-quality buttons, you'll find it familiar, easy to use, and quick to learn.

Storage System

K2^TM Lx0 media server and storage systems are optimized for broadcast and production environments and support multiple online, nearline, and standalone storage configurations.
